Chapter 9

While I’d been the plug for Wetto, he’d been the plug for his cousin, Kam. Kam was a major nigga on the black side of Harlem. Like us, he was a Blood nigga. I’d never met him face to face. I’d only heard about hit through Wetto. However, part of the information that Veeto had given me in regards to Wetto circled around Kam. He said that if I was looking to knock off and annihilate Wetto, it’d be smart for me to slump his cousin Kam as well, because even though they were on two different parts of Harlem, they ran it as one unit. He’d also heard that Wetto had given Kam half of the dope he’d robbed me for. It was all I needed to hear to get vexed. I made up my mind as soon as he gave me that information that both of them had to die.

Kam owned a furniture store on West One Fifty Third and Seventh Avenue. He was one of those hustlers that was trying to venture out into legit businesses. He had a few establishments all over Harlem and the Bronx. But I was told by Veeto that when it came down to him doing his books, he spent the most time at his furniture store out in Harlem. That’s where I’d able to catch his ass slipping.

It was eleven o’clock at night on a Thursday. It was nice and breezy with a full moon in the sky. I sat back in the Jeep Grand Cherokee and watched as four niggas from my hit squad hid on the side of the back entrance. That’s what Kam used as his only exit from his store after he’d locked it down for the night. They’d been waiting for about ten minutes when the back door opened and they rushed inside of it with pistols out. I saw flashes from their guns going off but heard no sounds. All of our weapons had silencers on them courtesy of the homey, Veeto.

I slid my mask all the way down my face and waited for the signal. I was still high from the two grams of heroin I’d shot into my system only ten minutes prior. I felt hot and my nose was stopped up. One of the hittas came out of the back door and waved me over. I cocked my nine millimeter and put it into the small of my back before jumping out of the truck and jogging passed Kam’s Rolls Royce that was in the drive way. It was all red with the black guts. The grass felt crunchy under my Timbs. I rushed inside where one of my hittas stood in the doorway until I passed by him. Then he closed the door and locked it.

The first thing I noticed when I got inside was that they had Kam on his knees with a two Machs at the back of his head. All around the store were bodies from Kam’s crew.
